If I don't get my hands on a Chocolate Stout Orange cupcake by the end of March, my life may be over. I tried to make it in yesterday to no avail. I'll do my best NEXT Friday.

My sister and I had the pleasure of stopping by yesterday; not only were the cupcakes glorious, but the two ladies working at the front counter were knowledgeable and a blast to be around. Thanks, and rest assured we'll be by again soon!

I live in New York City and stopped in at your shop recently. Your cupcakes beat any cupcake I have had in NYC. Usually the frosting is good or the cake is good; at Cupcake Jones both were excellent!! Three thumbs up!

Thanks again for the donation of 24 cupcakes for the "Friends of Trees" slide show on Tuesday. They were a huge hit. I was secretly hoping either we wouldn't have too many people or they wouldn't eat all of them so I could whisk some away for dessert that night. :) As luck would have it we had very good attendance, nearly 20 people, and they *loved* the cupcakes. Not only were all of them gone before the evening was done, all of your cards and menus disappeared too.

Thankfully my husband bought a couple for us when he picked up your donation so we were able to enjoy your tasty creations, as well. The only downside is now we have a slight addiction.

My dog and I have never had better cupcakes in our life! We were SO pleased when you said you would make the jumbo sized doggy cupcakes (along with some mini sized) for my dog's first birthday party. The doggy cupcakes were a huge hit and I even caught some humans tasting them! Thank you for going out of your way to make his birthday special and getting creative with the jumbo cupcakes. :)

A friend from Portland brought down some of your cupcakes (I live in Eugene). I am not a cake or cupcake person by any means. That is until I had your Red Velvet Cupcake. I think I am in love!

Please open a store in Eugene! (Yes, I am begging).

My girlfriend & I had the pleasure of sampling your tasty morsels this past Thanksgiving Day week. We just happened upon your quaint little shop which was a nice respite from the God-awful freezing wind that was whipping through us. Needless to say,we were delighted to see & smell all your incredible flavors. I had my heart set on "The Pearl". I've heard of Mother of Pearl, but this tasty treat was the "Mother of all Cupcakes",bar none!!! Thanks for the treats!!! We loved them!!! Keep up the great job!!!

It was so nice to meet you today! Before I GUSH about the cupcakes I bought today, I must let you know that I like to quote Dolly Parton, "Honey, I'd much rather have a potato than a whole pie!" In other words, I'm not too big into sweets, unless they are very very good. My husband and I split each cupcake and loved them. Firstly, they are not too sweet or cloyingly rich. The filling for both the pumpkin cupcake and the egg nog cupcake were wonderfully smooth and the taste of real fresh nutmeg came shining through. (Is that a touch of booze I taste in the eggnog one???) Anyhoo, I wanted to thank you for the lovely desserts. I'm hooked, so I guess I'll have to work in a bit more cardio into my already busy schedule, but damn, it's worth it!

I live in Idaho and was visisting a friend in Portland last week. We went down to Powells book store, saw your store, and had to stop. It was nearly 8PM, but your employees served us with smiles, and I was amazed by your gormet cupcakes. You're doing a great job, and I've told all my friends about your location. I expect I'll stop by every time I'm in Portland.

I will definitely have to go over there or send out for more...I can't stop until I try all of your specials, right? Keep up the great work, and know that you are appreciated here!

Lisa and CREW.... Ok...the first step is admitting you have a problem....I have a problem...I'm just not willing to fix it. Stopped in, again, today...The girls are DELIGHTFUL and the newest tasty treats are scrumptious!! The Pumpkin cheesecake with the oh-so-delightful pumpkin cracker was AMAZING....BAKKKKKKKKKKLAVVVVVVVVAAAAAAAAA....'nuff said.....I will, of course, miss my MIMOSA's until the strawberries cooperate, but I know you will keep me entertained until then.

So I got no more than 6 steps out the front door when I thought I would be a nice boss and take my amazing staff a box of tastie treaties...I got one of each (LARGE OF COURSE) and they haven't stopped sending me messages all day....
More converts.

It's like a little cult...and I'm the puppet master....You all just keep pushing your product and I'll keep creating addicts!

mmmmmm....see you next week.

Julie, and whichever friend i decide to bring along...

Just back from the Pearl District in Portland Oregon. Had such a fun time. While walking along one of the trendy little streets, searching for a place to have dinner....we found Cupcake Jones. What a great place! We spoke to the owners who happen to be a husband a wife duo. They looked like they were having such a fun time running their precious little "cup cakery".

I must say that their cupcakes are the best that I have ever had. They use only natural ingredients. No artificial anything! Being that I only eat mostly organic.....it was a perfect treat for me.

I am a Physician and have thought for many years that I would love to have a cupcake bakery. Thanks Cupcake Jones! You have inspired me to possibly start a cupcake bakery of my own.

Make sure to visit them if you happen to be in Portland!

I ordered their large Pearl cupcakes; it was fresh and exactly what I wanted and needed. There is a small white chocolate pearl on top and while I enjoyed that I completely enjoyed the frosting with a little tunnel of cream in the center.

When I go back to Portland I will come back and bring some back home.

Great job Lisa and Peter.

...consider how much love they put into their product/business: they make almost everything by hand (including marshmallows, graham crackers, jams, etc.), they candy everything by hand, they recycle everything, they use mass transit for deliveries, they donate leftovers to the homeless, etc. I'd be more than willing to pay more for tasty, great quality cupcakes while supporting a unique cupcakery that's enthusiastic about helping the community. AND they have dog-friendly cupcakes! Can't help but love them.

But anyway, I had a pearl (white cake, vanilla cream frosting, topped w/ a white chocolate pearl), a velvet painting (red velvet cocoa cake w/ cream cheese frosting), and a champagne & roses (white cake w/ champagne butter cream frosting). ALL YUM. I wanted to try a peppermint hot chocolate cupcake but my friends ate it while I was in the shower.

The owners of Cupcake Jones were the smiling faces we saw when we ducked in this place out of the COLD rain today. They seemed genuinely happy to be there, and after I saw the flavors of cupcakes available, so was I! Caramel Latte! Peanut Butter and Jelly! Cinnamon Apple Spice! The Pearl (all vanilla) and Downtown Chocolate Brown (all chocolate)! YUM!! Talk about a satisfaction for your sweet tooth! The Peanut Butter and Jelly had homemade marionberry jam stuffed inside the vanilla cake with LOADS of peanut butter icing on top! Now all I need is a big glass of 2% milk, and I'll be a blissful 8-year-old again! Also a great gift idea! They come in little brown boxes that protect them from damage. I'm gonna pass them out to people at work for Valentine's Day. Hopefully it'll make their day! My cupcake definitely made mine!

Cupcake Jones is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Not only do I love cream-filled cupcakes without food coloring, I love businesses that support the community. Lisa, the owner is qbuite generous to local causes. We create the city we want by through our spending habits. I will continue to support businesses like Cupcake Jones that provide high quality products while helping causes that make life more livable.

"sweet" hearts
The cupcakes are fantastic at Cupcake Jones and the service is incredible. I have been there 5 times and every time the staff treats me like a queen. They take the time to explain the ingredients even if there are people waiting. I have seen a woman who I assume is the owner or manager jump up to help customers anytime there are people in line. They are quick and engaging so it never feels like you wait long. What I love is that they use real stuff to flavor things. I asked about the Belmont Berry frosting because it was a beautiful bright purple and I thought it must have artifical color. It is made with - get this- buttercream frosting and blackberries. That's it! No coloring, no flavorings. Finally, I love that they don't run out of things. I have a bad habit of getting there a little later (after happy hour, usually) and they will make up whatever you want right up to closing. That's service! How do they do it? They DONATE their unsold cupakes to a place that feeds the homeless! I asked but forgot the name. It was after happy hour, afterall. Finally, the building is cool! Huge old beams and wood cieling that looks like it is restored, original. I love architecture too so I notice these things. There are a couple of gigantic doors in the center of the place that are apparently from the original building. Beautiful! Fun place.
