Cupcake Jones was featured on KGW TV’s “Out & About with Drew Carney”. It was a delight to have Drew in our bakery for a few hours early in the morning as we baked and got ready for the day. Drew even chased down cars and gave away cupcakes to drivers on Everett Street! Thanks Drew! Click here for the video

At Cupcake Jones, cupcakes are what they do. In fact, they’re all they do… and they , do them well. Their staff of bakers has created a menu of unique cupcake creations with names like The Pearl, Downtown Cupcake Brown, and Velvet Painting.

Cupcake Jones is a locally owned, family operated business that takes pride in baking all of their cupcakes from scratch and never using shortening.

• The Portland Tribune, Liz Colie Gadberry,
Excerpts from article dated August 7, 2007
Cupcake Jones is itsy-bitsy, clean and cute. Framed photos of kids and dogs eating cupcakes decorate the main wall. There’s a little display case filled with you-know-whats and a very short counter where you order. The people working at Cupcake Jones are superfriendly.

The main difference between Cupcake Jones cupcakes and Saint Cupcake cupcakes is that the ones at Cupcake Jones are filled.

For example, there’s the Pearl – white velvet cake filled with vanilla pastry cream and frosted with vanilla butter cream icing. The Downtown Cupcake Brown is filled with sour cream chocolate ganache and frosted with fudge icing. The Mimosa – orange yogurt cake filled with orange champagne pastry cream – is frosted with champagne butter cream…

Cupcake Jones cupcakes are quite lovely, topped with pretty edibles like a sparkly piece of candied lime or a pearl of white chocolate. And the ingredients used are top-notch (e.g., amarena cherries imported from Italy and pure Madagascar vanilla).

Cupcake Jones’ version of a s’more is a gooey delight.

• Heaven in Every Bite - From www.portlandpicks.com
Every few weeks, someone who clearly wants to shatter our dreams of bikini-wearing brings a huge box of donuts to the office. And, like a horse (or cow) to water, we head straight for the filled varieties. There’s just something about having every bite bursting with flavor and, of course, never quite knowing what you might get, that makes them so tempting. And it’s about time that someone gave this old idea a brand-new twist. For that, we credit the owners of Cupcake Jones, the new Pearl purveyor of filled cupcakes!

We assure you that both the outsides and insides of these jumbo cakes are outstanding. What’s more, each sweet treat comes topped with a detailed garnish, from handmade white-chocolate pearls to candied rose petals and chocolate mint leaves.

Buy by neighborhood, like the Belmont Berry (white-chocolate cake with marionberry buttercream) or flavor (creamsicle, peanut-butter cup, and mimosa), but be sure to check out the “Baker’s Choice,” a creative concoction that’s certain to amaze. Stop in soon—we guarantee you’ll be glad to bypass bikinis ‘til next summer!

Everything is made by hand at Cupcake Jones. They even candy their own citrus peel, edible flowers and chocolate mint (which Lisa gets from her mother-in-law's garden) for their garnishes and make their own marshmallows. Read More!
